IXL Learning vs. Jhana

It is great for providing students extra resources and opportunities for practice. In this case, it is extremely well suited. Moreover, since every student is different, the dynamic adjustment allows students to work through more/less problems depending on their level of mastery which can help students pinpoint areas of issues to discuss in the class. It is less appropriate for settings where a student may struggle to teach themselves as this requires some level of independence on part of the user.

If you are growing quickly and need to give first time people managers a resource to learn the basics this is a good tool. If you have established leaders this is not a good tool for them. It covers the basics and ABCs of people management and does not go much further than that.

• There is info on just about any HR topic there is
• There are activities and exercises that can be done

• When scoring - what are they comparing the range to?

• The articles are very surface level
• It is hard to make it valuable in a specific situation. One size does not fit all.
• The exercises don't seem totally flushed out

IXL is the best for easy to find practice for math standards. Freckle has more in depth features and integrates with other Renaissance products well, but can be hard to learn or use. Prodigy is a fun math game platform that works well for extra student practice or learning, but isn't as targeted as IXL

I have not used any other products like Jhana and I am not sure of what else would be out there. So it is hard to explain how Jhana has stacked up. I would image it stacks up well against anything else. My guess is that other tools feel a lot more corporate.

• It has allowed our students to be remediated or enriched on a much easier basis without having to come up with ideas for them.

• It costs money for users that don't really use it
• It quickly gives a resource to new managers
• It is something for HR to use with new managers
