MicroBiz vs. Zen Planner

Suitable for small and mid sized retail businesses. Many features to automate operations (bar code scanning throughout application, auto generate POS based on mix/max, stock look-up). May not be ideal for large retail stores. Lacks integrations with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle. Missing some specialty features such as serialized inventory.

I have used Zen Planner at 3 different Jujitsu schools. Every school that has used it, has had great success in keeping their attendance records straight for their students. This is great when promotions are coming up, or special seminars that need to reach everyone. I don't know that Zen Planner is a great product for places that don't need to communicate with their clients on a regular basis.

• Ring up transactions and take payments
• Manage inventory
• Management Reporting
• Discounts and promotions

• Easy to use interface
• Payment processing is easy for classes or for a small retail shop.
• The free integrated mobile website is great for everyone to check out the calendar and even sign and pay from within it.
• I can also send emails right from the platform when I need to connect with a student.

• Missing a couple helpful features (such as a free loyalty program)
• The formatting on some screens is whacky and the font can be small
• It could be easier to email receipts (need to set this before the transaction)

• The only thing I would like to see, is the ability to see my entire attendance from the app. I can view it on the desktop though.

It was close but we just liked some of the features in microbiz better. Plus it was cheaper

I have not used any product that are similar to Zen Planner in any way.

• Really amazing value for the monthly fees. Less expensive than other serious cloud POS applications
• Synch with QBO allows us to save time manually entering financial data into our accounting system
• Bar code scanning in both the front end and back end saves time and money

• Saves me time in using a paper attendance record sheet.
• Payments are automated, no need to request checks or payments from anyone. Emails are sent out if a payment fails.
• I can keep track of 10, 20, 30, or even 50 students using this platform.
