RapidDeploy vs. Spinnaker

RapidDeploy is most powerful and reliable enterprise software solution for the effective and continuous workflow, you can trust this with your application deployment and maintenance for any complex environments, it's services and depth reporting is great which provide you the effective environment management and accelerate the operational efficiency, it's Reporting/Analytics features make sure your smooth workflow.

Spinnaker suits well for applications which are stateless and can adapt to an immutable architecture of deployment. But for applications which are stateful and cannot afford to spin up new servers for every deployment doesn't go well with Spinnaker. It can handle only deployments which are VM based and cannot support deployments to serverless architecture like AWS Lambda etc.

• Enables application deployment in complex environment.
• RapidDeploy maintain a continuous delivery workflow.

• Can be integrated with a good variety of other products.

• For a small company prices they charge is too high.
• They can make deployment support for other operating system like Linux, Chromebook.
• They can provide video training session for the new users that will be great and helpful.

• It does NOT support CFN based deployments
• Windows based systems finds it difficult to onboard to Spinnaker.
• Pipeline level access authorisation is not there.
• Support for EBS volume encryption is probably missing.
• Attach/detach EBS volumes during deployments is difficult.
• No support to deploy the artifacts without re-creating the servers. Only pure immutable deployment are allowed.
• Open-source - so good and bad!
• Spinnaker on its own has 10 underlying micro services. Managing Spinnaker needs a focussed platform approach.
• User authentication is easy but authorisation management is not straight forward.

RapidDeploy is more reliable and trusted among the users, it's features and technical support team is more helpful for any problems and RapidDeploy is more reasonably priced for it's features and support then Bitbucket. My overall experience with RapidDeploy is more graceful and RapidDeploy support team help you in every step during the deployment

• RapidDeploy is great software for software development and management.
• You can trust for continuous delivery workflow.
• For a small company price is not so reasonable.

• By using Spinnaker we are able to deploy new versions of our product quickly.
• A deployment takes in average 2 minutes.
• Our investment on Spinnaker was just time learning it.
