Newsela vs. Wayground

Newsela is a valuable resource for creating individualized learning opportunities and assessments. Instead of every student receiving the same assignment, teachers can tailor tasks to individuals' learning needs and goals. Additionally, teachers can tailor subjects and topics to students' interests, which promotes engagement and enthusiasm. Quizizz is very well suited for my elementary and middle school-aged students. It is fast-paced, competitive, and keeps their attention. I would not think it would be as well implemented in lower (k-2) grades. I love the fact that it is aligned with Generation Genius, which is another site I use for instruction.

• Modifying existing quizzes often simply does not work: the system looks up when I try to add new items.
• Quizizz has no easily discovered way to change titles of quizzes.

Newsela is easy to use, and the assignments are fairly simple to assign. The supplemental activities are engaging.

All reports are very informative and you can analyze the data by student, by class, or by question. The ease of sharing the assignments via Google Classroom is seamless! Teachers can input their own media and questions for anything (quiz, test, survey, emotional check in, etc)

Newsela has more features than Achieve3000. It offers more opportunities to differentiate instruction and tailor activities to individual students. It also offers more subjects/topics for teachers to provide to students; this large selection of articles helps diversify lessons in classrooms with multiple levels and student interests.

Since many online fun checks are not available in the market, we choose Quizziz because it is easier to use than the others, it has a user icon to use ( which is fun to choose), the site is easy to find. No lag and crash of website.
