Trend Micro
Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security is well suited for bigger companies with huge numbers of incoming and outgoing emails. It is really easy to configure, and once setup, there is not much to be done. So this requires minimal administration efforts. However, as the reporting is weak, if this is essential for a company, then it would be better to look into other alternatives.

Cons
Proton
  • Exporting email (which I like to do for archiving) is awkward and slow.
  • Proton Mail Bridge (which allows access from other email readers like Outlook) sometimes has synchronization issues. Lately these just resolve themselves.

Trend Micro
  • Higher false positive rate for Spam detection.
  • Logging can be difficult to search.

Trend Micro
Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security is much cheaper than Kasprsky Security for Email Server. Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security is easier to install and the maintenance effort required is much less than this required by Kasprsky Security for Email Server. However, taking into account that both were tested behind a firewall, most of the threats had already been eliminated there...
