Qualys TotalCloud vs. Tripwire Enterprise

We have found Qualys TotalCloud useful to track down and identify specific files or packages, which helped us to verify that the solution we had implemented was successful. It also helped us do identify false positives, since the paths of the files are included in the Qualys TotalCloud details, so we could see if files were just and set of old install files.

Tripwire Enterprise is great for hosting/data center environments and it greatly helps where console screenshots and reporting fill a lot of our client internal audit needs for security and change control.

• It allows us to track development changes for engineer accountability.
• Tripwire Enterprise also allows us to monitor changes/updates being done to our systems in our hosting centers.
• We use the software to track user access and critical system changes.

• In previous versions the management console was a little hard to navigate in some respects.
• I'm sure this has changed over time but we hope the reporting system has gotten more granular.
• I really don't have to many cons for this product, I recommend it for every company I work for!

After installing Qualys TotalCloud, it was just a matter of initiating a service or daemon and it continues to run. There is no maintenance or special monitoring needed. Qualys TotalCloud seamlessly reports the required information to Cisco Security and all we need to do is check the Cisco Security interface for any vulnerabilities that we need to address.

Honestly, I haven't used other products to do what Tripwire does, it's always my first recommendation.

• Allowed me to resolve vulnerabilities so that none of our servers have high-priority vulnerabilities.
• Keeping our own environments safe also ensures that our customers' environments are safe.
• Using the Qualys TotalCloud details reported on our servers allows us to assist customers in resolving their vulnerabilities that they ask us for assistance with resolving.

• Tripwire has been a positive business impact for us because of its trusted name. Our customers require software like Tripwire because they know their data and security concerns are in good hands when it's deployed.
