What is Adaxes?

Adaxes is a comprehensive directory management and automation solution designed to optimize administrative tasks, enhance security, and boost user productivity in Active Directory environments. It caters to organizations of all sizes and is utilized by IT administrators, system administrators, Active Directory administrators, help desk and support teams, HR departments, and security and compliance teams across various industries.

Key Features

Approval-Based Workflow: Adaxes enables the inclusion of an approval step for operations in Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft 365, and more. Users can delegate tasks to lower-level authorities while maintaining control. Approval requests are sent via email, and operations are suspended until approval is granted. Multi-level approval can be configured for security-sensitive operations.

Group Membership Management: Users can request to join groups, which require approval before they are added. Approvers can include managers, group owners, or other designated individuals. Custom scripts can be utilized to create more complex lists of approvers. Multi-level approval can be configured for specific operations.

Controlling Automated Tasks: Adaxes allows the addition of an approval mechanism to automated operations that occur on a regular basis or are triggered by events. Admins can review and approve requests received via email. Operations will not proceed until approval is granted. The Adaxes Administration Console provides access to all approval requests in the environment.

Exchange Online Management: Adaxes integrates with the EXOv3 PowerShell module for streamlined management of Exchange Online. It automates user provisioning, reprovisioning, and deprovisioning for Office 365 services. License management and administration of Office 365 and Exchange Online mailboxes can be efficiently performed through a single web-based interface. Delegation of Office 365 management tasks is simplified.

Web Interface Enhancements: The Web Interface of Adaxes offers improved usability and enhanced user experience. Users have the option to choose a dark theme for the interface. A new editor is available for binary fields, and the Web Interface configurator has been enhanced.

Criteria Enhancements: Adaxes provides more options and flexibility in defining criteria for operations. The functionality for automation and policy enforcement based on criteria has been improved. Enhanced search criteria allow for better filtering and targeting. Custom scripts can be utilized to create more complex criteria.

Assorted Improvements: Adaxes includes performance enhancements and stability improvements. It offers support for Microsoft Lync, Exchange 2013, Windows Server 2012, and Windows 8. The REST API allows for extended functionality and integration. The availability of an SDK facilitates customization and adaptation to unique business environments.

Role-Based Security: Adaxes enables the delegation of permissions through the assignment of security roles to users. These roles consist of sets of permissions that correspond to specific job functions. Permissions can be easily granted or revoked, and their scope can be adjusted as needed. Adaxes provides a unified ecosystem for managing permissions across multiple domains, even without trust relationships.

Dynamic Permissions: Adaxes automates the granting and revoking of permissions based on predefined criteria. Users are provided with the exact permissions required for their job and have them withdrawn when necessary. Permissions can be granted or revoked based on user attributes, group membership, or other conditions. This ensures security and data integrity by restricting users to accessing only the objects they have permission to see.

Delegating Tasks: Adaxes facilitates the delegation of tasks to users through its Web interface. Users can perform delegated tasks based on their assigned permissions and role. The Web interface dynamically adjusts to the user's permissions, hiding control elements and sections they are not authorized to access. This allows users to easily accomplish tasks within their role without navigating through unnecessary features.
