Alocity
What is Alocity?
Alocity is a cloud-managed physical security platform that combines Video Surveillance, door and gate access control, video intercoms, and Visitor Management. Its Control Center lets operators manage cameras, doors, visitors, intercom calls, alerts, and workflows across multiple sites. The platform also includes AI agents, AI-generated reports, and a natural-language assistant named Aimee, which the vendor labels beta.
Key Capabilities
- Video management and search: The cloud video management system (VMS) provides live and recorded video, clip sharing, multi-site viewing, and search for people, vehicles, and objects. Video is linked to access events.
- Edge video processing: The AIVR appliance connects to IP cameras that support ONVIF or RTSP (camera interoperability and streaming standards). It runs NVIDIA-based processing locally, indexes video for search, and generates video events. Models support up to 8, 16, 60, or 100 AI streams. Video can be stored on the device, on existing network-attached storage, in the cloud, or in a hybrid arrangement.
- AI video agents and license plate recognition: Agent types on the vendor's pages include intrusion, loitering, tailgating, weapon detection, person of interest, and vehicle watchlists. License plate recognition (LPR) is part of the video product line.
- Secure access control: Cloud-managed users, roles, groups, doors, and schedules run on Mercury-based open-architecture controllers. Supported readers use OSDP or Wiegand. Credentials include mobile credentials (Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, Bluetooth LE, NFC), 3D face recognition, encrypted cards and fobs, and QR codes or PINs for temporary access.
- Video intercom: Visitors call a person, department, or team. Authorized users answer from a mobile app, the Control Center, or a desk station, then speak with the visitor and unlock the door, gate, or elevator. Calls can be routed by person, department, tenant, location, schedule, or availability.
- Visitor management: Pre-registration uses QR codes, PINs, mobile credentials, or face recognition. Delivery PINs or time-limited access can also be created. Visitor, access, intercom, and video records are combined into a searchable timeline.
- Aimee and AI Insights: Aimee accepts natural-language requests such as searching video, creating visitor passes, managing credentials and doors, and generating reports and workflows. The vendor states that Aimee's actions create an audit trail. AI Insights produces dashboards, reports, trends, and recommendations from video and access data.
- Agent-driven workflows: Agents monitor access events, video, visitors, and intercoms, and can alert security, save video, create incident timelines, lock selected entrances, trigger lockdowns, and send emergency notifications.
Audience & Use Cases
- Audience: Physical security teams, property and facility managers, and operations teams. Industry pages cover healthcare, education, corporate offices, warehousing, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, multifamily, financial, data centers, quick service restaurants, and corrections.
- Use Case: Adding AI video search and detection to existing ONVIF or RTSP cameras, managing door access and credentials across sites, handling visitors and deliveries with video-linked records, and investigating events across video, access, and visitor data.
