TrustRadius Insights for Altair HyperWorks are summaries of user sentiment data from TrustRadius reviews and, when necessary, third party data sources.
Pros
Intuitive and User-Friendly Interface: Several users have praised the highly intuitive and user-friendly interface of altair hyperworks. They have found the layout and icons to enhance their navigation experience, making it easy to understand and use.
Comprehensive Software for CAE Calculations: Many reviewers consider altair hyperworks to be a comprehensive software for CAE calculations. They appreciate the extensive modules available for analysis and simulation, which cater to both beginners and experienced users.
Versatile Meshing Tool: The meshing tool in altair hyperworks, specifically HyperMesh, has been widely appreciated by users. It is regarded as one of the best in the industry for FEA meshing, with capabilities for solid and surface geometrical regulations. Users also value its versatility in customizing meshing and creating simulations for static and dynamic design.
I like the new interface; the icons are very understandable and useful. And we don't need to continuously press the ctrl button on the keyboard while panning and turning the geometry. I'm cleaning geometries and meshing them quickly, which needs analysis and running smoothly. HyperWorks made my work easier and faster. For meshing, we are using it in our department all the time.
Pros
Taking midsurfaces much better
Meshing is more easy
Recreating and building meshes good
Sketch tools is not bad
Cons
Extend surfaces need to improve
Some skills are not working well sometimes like patch, cross extend

HyperWorks allows you to do structure analysis fast and precisely. Then, it also have the option of you to run optimization, Optistruct is a good solver and built in to the interface. The GUI sometimes can be overwhelming, because of it provides too much of features, it is pretty distracted and confused what will be the best option to perform analysis.
Our company provides mechanical engineering and product development services for a variety of industries. We use HyperWorks as our primary analysis and optimization tool, most notable for our FEA and CFD analysis needs. The suite of software addresses nearly all of our simulation requirements and it's nice to have all the necessary tools in one package.
Pros
All-inclusive software suite
Wide breadth of capabilities and custom scripting
Highly efficient and scalable solvers/computation
Cons
User interface is improving, but not always intuitive; varies across tools
Steep learning curve
Cost may be out of reach for some, but relatively inexpensive if you need all the tools it includes (vs. paying for each tool individually)

Engineering firms and companies with needs for multiple disciplines of analysis capabilities on a regular basis will benefit from HyperWorks. Companies with short term engineering needs (less than 6 months) or who only need a particular analysis/simulation discipline may be better off using a consultant (who likely uses HyperWorks).
