Amazon Monitron

Amazon Monitron is a solution that helps enterprises to reduce unplanned equipment downtime with predictive maintenance and machine learning. It is designed to improve system accuracy continuously, as Amazon Monitron learns from technician feedback entered in the mobile and web apps.

Amazon Monitron gateway device securely transfers data to AWS, and the service automatically analyzes data for abnormal machine conditions with ML. Equipment health monitoring begins in minutes through the Amazon Monitron mobile and web apps, and this enables predictive maintenance with the same technology used to monitor equipment in Amazon Fulfillment Centers.

Amazon Monitron’s wireless sensors attach to equipment with adhesive, without the need for cabling. These sensors are purpose-built to capture vibration and temperature data in order to monitor the condition of rotating equipment. Amazon Monitron also includes Wi-Fi and ethernet gateways to transfer the sensor data to AWS. Amazon Monitron Sensors and Gateways are pre-configured to work with the Amazon Monitron service.

A service fee is charged per every Amazon Monitron Sensor in use. In the US East (N. Virginia) Region, the service fee is $4.17 per Sensor per month ($50 per Sensor per year). Amazon starts charging when the user commissions the Sensor through the set-up process, and then Amazon automatically meters the period of time the Sensor is in use based on when it was commissioned and decommissioned, and invoice the user for that period (pro-rated by the second period) via the organization's monthly AWS bills.
