Amazon Nova

Amazon Nova is a portfolio of artificial intelligence foundation models and managed AI services from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Originally developed to power Amazon’s internal systems—such as Alexa+, Amazon Ads, Amazon Catalog System Services, AWS Marketplace, and Amazon Stores—Amazon Nova provides enterprise organizations with foundation model intelligence, custom model customization, and agentic workflow automation.

The Amazon Nova portfolio includes three core offerings:

• Nova Models: A family of foundation models for text and multimodal processing. Named model variants include Nova 2 Lite, a reasoning model designed for everyday enterprise tasks, and Nova 2 Sonic, a speech-to-speech conversational model. Nova Models provide model customization capabilities, allowing organizations to adapt model outputs to specific corporate data, domains, and task requirements.
• Nova Forge: A managed service for building purpose-built frontier models using Nova as a baseline. Nova Forge enables enterprises to create tailored domain models without incurring the full compute, time, and financial overhead of training a foundation model from scratch.
• Nova Act: An agent management service powered by a custom Nova 2 Lite computer-use model. Nova Act allows organizations to build, deploy, and manage fleets of AI agents designed to automate browser-based user interface (UI) workflows and cross-application tasks at scale.

Amazon Nova is engineered for enterprise deployment with predictable latency, built-in content filtering, and policy-aligned safety controls to support enterprise risk and compliance standards. Common enterprise use cases include automated browser-based process automation (Nova Act), real-time conversational voice assistants (Nova 2 Sonic), natural language reasoning and text analysis (Nova 2 Lite), and proprietary model customization (Nova Forge).
