What is AROYA?

AROYA is a cultivation platform built for commercial cannabis operators. It combines wireless substrate sensors, environmental sensors, and a software platform that turns continuous root-zone and climate data into crop steering recipes, irrigation logic, and historical performance records. AROYA is a product of Addium, an agriculture and food science company whose sensor lineage traces back to 1983.

Core capabilities

  • Substrate sensing through the TEROS ONE, which measures volumetric water content, electrical conductivity, and substrate temperature with primary pore-water EC measurement up to 20 dS/m and readings every three minutes.
  • Environmental sensing through the CLIMATE ONE, which captures air temperature, humidity, VPD, CO₂, and light, with aspirated sensors and condensation protection designed for indoor cultivation environments.
  • Software platform that organizes data by room, harvest, and cultivar; supports digital grow journals, recipes, alerts, task management, and predictive analytics; and stores data on AWS-backed encrypted infrastructure.
  • AUTOMAIT, an AI-driven irrigation system that adjusts shots automatically based on real-time runoff and substrate data rather than fixed schedules.
  • Native controller integrations with Rhythm and CCMS, plus support for OpenSprinkler and read-only telemetry from Argus. Open Modbus TCP architecture allows third-party integrators to connect legacy hardware, including TrolMaster, Priva, Netafim, Growlink, Dosatron, and Wadsworth systems.

Customer outcomes

Published case studies report measurable yield and consistency gains. A multi-state operator with facilities in Oregon, Arizona, Washington, and Nevada, reported a 20% yield increase across its cultivation footprint after deploying AROYA. AROYA's own before-and-after comparisons cite cultivar yield improvements of 30–40% among customers who transitioned from manual cultivation strategies to data-driven crop steering.

Differentiators

AROYA is purpose-built for commercial cannabis cultivation rather than adapted from general-purpose agriculture software. The platform's sensors were engineered for indoor substrates rather than retrofitted from soil applications, and the TEROS ONE is currently the only cannabis substrate sensor capable of accurate primary pore-water EC measurement at the high salinity levels common in extreme drybacks. AROYA's open Modbus integration approach contrasts with closed-loop competitors that lock customers into single-vendor hardware ecosystems.

Best fit

Commercial cannabis cultivators operating in indoor or controlled-environment facilities, particularly multi-room and multi-site operators seeking standardized cultivation data, repeatable quality, and predictable yields per square foot. Customer support includes pre-install consultation, ongoing cultivation expertise via AROYA's Office Hours program, and direct access to cultivation specialists.
