Automated Cloud Migration
Astadia offers any application solution they deliver to work on all of the popular Cloud Platforms. This includes AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle, IBM and others. Many IBM and Unisys mainframe applications may be Replatformed, or Refactored, depending upon the client’s requirements. In the case of programming languages such as COBOL, a Replatform option is available. This may be followed in a phase 2 plan where the COBOL code is Refactored to a popular modern language such as Java or C#.NET. Or, an application may be Refactored directly from the mainframe source platform, to a target Cloud. An example of a direct Refactor migration would be moving off a proprietary programming language and database, like Software AG’s Adabas & Natural, and other similar platforms. In cases like mainframe Assembler languages, there are emulators available, but generally speaking, a direct Refactor approach would be recommended in almost every case. The automatic transformation of application source code, along with database transformation, makes the Astadia platform a powerful and unique capability.
