What is Assemble, from Autodesk?

Assemble Systems, from Autodesk, is a construction data management cloud that automates extraction of properties and parameters from a design model to assess BIM data necessary for mission-critical build processes. Assemble gives access to customize and manage design and construction data sets throughout the project lifecycle. Assemble Systems allows one to condition, query, and connect the data to key workflows, like bid management, estimating, project management, scheduling, site management, and finance. Assemble Project stakeholders can view, interrogate, organize, and manage BIM data without additional purchase and or prior authoring tool knowledge. It gives project teams access to the model data to add intelligence and condition BIM data for action.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I used this AutoCAD Assemble program to assemble my pipe structure railing and some of the outer works of summers with very ease. But sometimes it feels leggy when there are many components on the same assembly drawing. I use this very extensively but after using solid works for the assembly I realise that AutoCAD assemble has many shortcomings compared to SOLIDWORKS.

Pros

  • Railing
  • Piping structure
  • Machine structure

Cons

  • Components handling
  • Ram management
  • Assembly parameters

Return on Investment

  • Costing is not accurate.
