We have used IAM for the last few years in our company. Before that our company had more then one AWS account to handle marketing asserts, HR, etc. but with the help of IAM we pushed everything on one roof and gave every department different access & different permission to AWS services. Now it's soo easy to manage things. We have some custom scripts which run at night and take our servers backup & we used IAM to give those access to backup stuff on S3 buckets.
  • Assigning the right resources to the right people.
  • It gives us the ability to set 2FA which help us to identity users during login.
  • Great tool to small & large company.
  • It has tons of ready-to-use rules but those rules are not explained well.
  • Documentation needs some improvement.
We used IAM to give access to different department with different services. No need to use different accounts to use different services.
IAM is so flexible and easy to use. Even helped us to set 2FA & set other password policies.
