Excellent alternative to the big beast on the CAD industry

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

<div>We use BricsCAD as our go to CAD aplication for most drawing work relating to surveys and geophysics that does not requre 3rd party applications for more advanced use-cases.</div><div>

</div><div>The expense and inconvenience of Autodesk's subscription model made this product an ideal substitute for where we were previously running AutoCAD LT. The advanatage being not having to constantly change user licenses around as licenses can be applied per machine; the overall cost is a huge negenfit; and the range of features and speed/size of the software have also brought us further advantages.

Pros

  • regular updates
  • fast
  • lisp routines and scripting
  • 3d orbit
  • cost
  • great support

Cons

  • there is not full compatibility with dynamic blocks but it isn't so bad -we can create them in AutoCAD and use them to some extent anyway
  • it doesn't look as "sexy" and the interface looks kinda orimitive in some screens but the functionality is all there and the some
  • there is the hurdle of users thinking they are getting a lesser product so more marketing pozazz is needed to get the message over it is a very capable product

Likelihood to Recommend

SMBs who do want to minimse their involvement with expensinve, inconvenient and bloated Autodesk products will find lots to love. The only hinderence is the market share of Autodesk means some 3rd party developers will not support it unfortunately, but it has it's own solutions to many things users of the AutoCAD ecosystem currenrtly rely on.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In the context of the realization of public works and buildings, and training, we are called upon to have the best design and modeling tool in 2D and 3D. BricsCAD BIM has all the features of BricsCAD pro and offers an arsenal of editing tools and allows the assembly of complex structures with ACIS as the main modeler. BricsCAD allows for a clearer 3D rendering of buildings. It is easier to know exactly where interventions and modifications can be executed by having a panoramic view of the structure.

Pros

  • 3D Modeling
  • Machine learning / A.I.-assisted feature named PROPAGATE.

Cons

  • Reduce the price for access to the premium version of BircsCAD to take advantage of the latest features.
  • Avalaible in several languages

Likelihood to Recommend

It is possible to use BricsCAD in a free version over time except that it is considerably reduced in terms of functionality and performance. I especially like the collaboration, import and export features. These tools are important in that they allow you to exchange with the different teams involved in the project to make the necessary changes in time.
