What is Buildbox?
Buildbox is software designed to allow anyone to create games regardless of technical skill. Boasting a unique user interface, Buildbox helps making games to become a fluid process that doesn't require any scripting, programming or software design experience.
Buildbox 3 allows anyone to design, build, and publish amazing 3D and 2D games. To help users get started, Buildbox includes a built-in Template Library. Each template is a mini-game with prebuilt functionality that can be edited and customized. Users can make (examples) 3D space shooters, challenging racers, epic adventures, and other types of games.
There’s also a built-in Asset Library with Smart Assets™. Each asset comes with preset animations and logic, speeding up game development and ease-of-use. The user can also edit them down to their node structure or code. And Buildbox 3's Brainboxes helps users make any character or object in the game move. These drag-and-drop animation components feature built-in logic.
By integrating Adbox into a created game, and publishing the game to Google Play or the App Store, created games can be monetized. Adbox handles the rest, from ad optimization (ensuring you the most ad revenue) to payouts. When monetizing the app using Adbox Monetization, Buildbox will collect a percentage (dependent on your subscription tier) of the ad revenue earned through Adbox Monetization. Any other monetization impletement can be kept.
Buildbox runs on Windows and Mac OS, and is available via a free plan with relatively limited features, and commercial plans. Each plan includes all core features of Buildbox like the menu editor, scene editor, actions, effects, logic, monetization, and creator with all gameplay possibilities. The main difference between plans is customizable splash screens, how the game can be monetized, and revenue share percentages for ads implemented through Adbox Monetization.
