Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our camp used CampWise as our primary camp management, registration, staff onboarding, and infirmary/med distribution software. It also served as a donor database for us. It was essentially our CRM and our primary database that we used for everything camp related. Camp management software is the most important software to the camp, and we used this for everything except for accounting, POS, and asset tracking.

Pros

  • CampWise understands faith-based camps well and has a feature set that helps group and church signups for programs that are more commonly found in Christian camps. This set CW apart from many of the other similar platforms.

Cons

  • The applications are very challenging to both create and utilize. They are not mobile-friendly, and they are not intuitive for parents to login. We got many, many parental complaints about the applications.
  • While you could have many applications, you could not truly simplify them.

Return on Investment

  • It was the source of continual frustration for many camper parents
  • We often gave up on using it for some short-term events, because the users were so frustrated at it, that we created easier google forms and then manually entered their info later.
