Good idea execution could be improved
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
As a contractor, I was told to use Candex to contract with a large multi-national organization, and submit invoices through Candex. The "happy path" worked well. Whenever there were any hiccups in the process, it could be challenging to get to resolution with Candex. I had an issue with Candex' payment going through to my bank and it took >1 month to resolve which was frustrating, but a resolution was eventually found.
Pros
- Simple contracting and invoicing
- Reduce red tape working with multi-national procurement departments
- Have a usable web interface
Cons
- Dealing with edge cases (e.g., bank accounts with different inbound and outbound routing numbers)
- Accepting the breadth of business entity incorporation styles (e.g., S-Corp vs sole proprietorship in USA)
- Deeply investigating issues and working towards swift resolutions -- easy issues are resolved quickly, hard issues have a runaround
Return on Investment
- Overall Candex slowed down my contracting and invoicing workflows
- Candex delayed cashflow when an issue with my bank routing numbers caused a multiple-month delay in payment
- Candex did positively avoid too much back-and-forth with customer procurement departments
