What is Cloudera Data Science Workbench (discontinued)?
Cloudera Data Science Workbench (CDSW) was an enterprise data science platform for collaborative development, experimentation, model training, deployment, and management on Cloudera data infrastructure. Data scientists could use Python, R, Scala, and supported libraries and frameworks to run interactive sessions and workloads against data in Hadoop clusters.
The platform organized work into projects and supported sessions, jobs, experiments, models, and analytical applications. Users could work in the built-in editor or connect supported browser-based and local development environments, including Jupyter, RStudio, PyCharm, and Visual Studio Code. CDSW also provided isolated runtime environments, on-demand compute resources, collaborative project workflows, and centrally managed model deployment.
Availability status: Cloudera Data Science Workbench has reached end of support. Cloudera states that its CDSW documentation is no longer updated. Existing CDSW customers should plan migration to Cloudera AI, formerly known as Cloudera Machine Learning (CML), which is the supported successor for Cloudera’s machine learning workflows.
This listing should be treated as a legacy product record. CDSW remains relevant for organizations documenting historical implementations or planning a migration, but it should not be evaluated for new deployments.
