What is Coalesce?
Coalesce is a cloud-native solution built for Snowflake that empowers data teams to tackle transformations, and to accelerate the delivery of data projects. Recognizing data transformation’s critical role in the analytics lifecycle, the Coalesce data development platform automates most SQL coding without sacrificing flexibility. The platform aims to boost data team efficiency, allowing faster data pipeline development while empowering organizations to concentrate on extracting maximum value from their data.
The Coalesce product is built around the concept of "metadata" - column and table level information that describes the structure and transformations inside any data warehouse. This metadata makes both designing and deploying data warehouses easier, especially at enterprise scale.
Designing with metadata allows the data warehouse to be designed with column level understanding, standardization with data patterns (templates) and granular column-level data modeling.
This metadata is also used to track past, current, and desired deployment states of the data warehouse over time. This creates visibility and control of change management workflows, enabling plans to be built and reviewed before deploying changes to the data warehouse.
