CommentDefender
What is CommentDefender?
Spam and scam comments appearing under paid Facebook or Instagram advertisements degrade campaign performance by intercepting paid user clicks. CommentDefender monitors incoming comments across connected Facebook Pages and Instagram professional accounts against custom moderation criteria. According to the vendor, the platform hides matching comments within seconds across organic posts and paid advertisements.
Administrators configure automated detection rules targeting URLs, email addresses, phone numbers, custom keyword lists, user mentions, hashtags, emojis, and image or Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) comments on Facebook. An allowlist of approved terms overrides all standard moderation rules. Matching comments are hidden by default rather than permanently deleted, allowing administrators to restore them at any time.
Moderation rules are scoped to individual pages to prevent cross-account configuration overlap, with options to duplicate rule sets across pages when uniform moderation is required. Role-based access controls assign team members to designated pages, ensuring external clients and Virtual Assistants (VAs) access only assigned accounts without shared credentials. Every moderation action is logged alongside the specific rule that triggered it.
Automated moderation initiates upon connecting a page, while comments posted prior to account integration remain unaltered. Connected Instagram accounts must operate as professional accounts linked to an active Facebook Page. Artificial Intelligence (AI) profanity and sentiment filters, along with AI-generated reply drafts requiring manual review prior to dispatch, are scheduled roadmap additions that remain inactive in the current release.
Subscription tiers start at $9 per month for 1,000 processed comments, with all tiers supporting unlimited pages, team members, and filter rules. A 14-day evaluation trial is available without requiring credit card registration.
