Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Datasite for our virtual data rooms for M&A and Financing transactions. We are very satisfied with Datasite, and we appreciate the innovations implemented over the years: AI, assistants, connectivity, and other quality-of-life improvements. We have repeatedly used Datasite for our transactions because of the high quality of their support and after-sales service.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use first the Virtual Data Room Index to get a broad overview of the content of the virtual data room documents, review the folder structure and if all the requested documents are available and in the right folder and have the right names. We use the Redaction and Q&A Tools in the process and the search and download function.
The AI cooperation with Harvey would be promising.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In the framework of the due diligences that I perform, Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room helps to provide information regarding the date of the upload of the documents needed to perform our expertise. The email send to keep us up to date regarding the documents uploaded in the VDR is really useful. It’s also handy when it comes to organising and uploading documents, as well as moving them from one folder to another. Finally, the platform also allows users to post Q&As. Although the format requested is not the same as what we do within my company, the system is very interesting and allows topics to be targeted effectively. Plus, we don’t have to send out different versions of the Q&As, everyone has access to the same level of information in real time.

I use it for due diligence and legal virtual data room access. It is great to use as a storage/database which keeps all of the documents in one place.

Pros

  • User friendly
  • Great customer support when needed
  • Sets out VDRs very nicely and efficiently

Cons

  • Got too techy and now harder to use
  • Too many clicks now with extra features (e.g. doc preview tab is a bit redundant as we want to see the whole tab and now have to click off it to manually open the whole doc rather than previously it was just one click to open the whole doc in a new tab)
