I am constantly running ad hoc queries across multiple database servers to assist management in making data driven decisions. I also use it to help determine how data in undocumented systems links and is stored.
Pros
Syntax highlighting
Easy to configure
Cross platform
Buffer storage in the event of accidental closure
Easy to customize UI
Display data in table
Display table and field layout
Cons
Better notifications of updates. Email in addition to popup.

It is great for figuring out how data sets are related when no ERD was provided by the vendor. It is great for ad hoc queries. The export function is great in that many systems are remote.

We use DbVisualizer on a daily basis to pull requested data for our school district. Many reports are request from various departments such as HR, Finance and our campuses, with DbVisualizer licensed to some of our end users we can send a query which they can run or modify if needed on their end. Each case is unique, and DbVisualizer has helped so much.
Pros
Auto Export Employee Info for auto-Provisioning
Auto Export Student Info for auto-Provisioning
Extract roster data for third party software/applications
Cons
have needed drivers built into the install
Likelihood to Recommend
Struggled in the begging with drivers needed to access our SIS/ERP system. Once found and installed, was able to point to drivers from within the DbVisualizer connector and access our data.
