DigitalProductPassport by WIARA

DigitalProductPassport by WIARA is a cloud platform for manufacturers and importers that create and publish Digital Product Passports (DPPs) for products placed on the EU market. It supports organizations preparing product data for requirements established under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), related delegated acts, and applicable construction-product requirements.

Users enter product information once and publish a passport in all 24 official EU languages. This provides a single product-data record for organizations selling the same product across multiple EU member states.

Passport Publication and Access

Each passport is published as a static web page with a URL and can be accessed from a QR code. The platform supports GS1 Digital Link identifiers and can issue passports at the model, batch, or individual-item level. Passport pages use structured JSON-LD and schema.org data to support machine readability, and the vendor states that pages meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements.

Passport information can be classified for public, professional, or authority audiences. Public content can present basic product information, while professional access can include technical documentation and authority access can include certificates and test reports. The vendor states that authority access uses eIDAS authentication.

Data Management, Compliance, and Integration

The platform provides sector templates for ESPR-related requirements and construction products, along with versioned passport records and change-history tracking. When a template changes, previously published passports can retain their published version while new passports use the current template. WIARA states that its audit trail retains change history for seven years.

DigitalProductPassport provides a REST API, personal access tokens, and machine-to-machine service accounts for integrations with ERP, PIM, and PLM systems. The API is documented with OpenAPI 3.0.3. Data is hosted in the EU, and the platform uses open data formats rather than a proprietary passport format.

The vendor states that the platform is built around the CEN-CENELEC DPP standards, GS1 Digital Link, CIRPASS-2 reference architecture, and EU DPP Registry requirements. The EU DPP Registry is operational; WIARA states that its production registry connection remains in preparation.

Plans

DigitalProductPassport offers a free plan and paid plans starting at €33, €125, and €419 per month, including VAT. The plans include 3, 30, 150, or 600 active model passports, respectively. Model passport limits apply to the total number of published model passports kept active, while batch and item passport allowances are measured monthly. Additional model passports are available at €2.40 each, and enterprise plans are available by quote.
