A great Text Editor and a good alternative to Notepad++

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Edit+ is a great text editor and a good alternative to Notepad++. I use Edit+ as a normal text editor (instead of Notepad) and I also use it to write scripts (shell or python scripts mostly). It is very lightweight and has some level of customization available. It can open large files without lagging which is a plus. It also supports multiple languages, has syntax highlighting, and also tells about syntax errors in the programs I write.

Pros

  • Lightweight and easy to use.
  • Some level of Customization.
  • Multi Language Support.

Cons

  • Plugins Support
  • More Customization

Most Important Features

  • Lightweight, Fast, and easy to use.
  • Can open big files without lag.

Return on Investment

  • I have not been involved in that aspect. I am just a user.

EditPlus Code Editor

Pros

  • Decent overall text editor for any programming language you want to use.
  • Can customize your layout/color scheme to fit your needs.

Cons

  • Not well supported by community
  • Lacks plugins/extension other well known editors have.

Return on Investment

  • There is a cost too for the editor, and even though it is not really that pricey we ended moving away to another option.

Alternatives Considered

Sublime Text and Microsoft Visual Studio Code
