Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Quercus is used to process student applications, take payment of course fees and accept/reject course offers. However, this year we encountered a lot of issues with Quercus accepting offers and it let us down big time. We had to manually take payments over the phone as the system would not allow students to accept offers which was a huge inconvenience. Having to take payments manually we had to record payments manually and then we also had to update the payment on Quercus and accept the offer on the students behalf, this involved a lot of work in what was already an extremely busy time.
Pros
- Assessments/Results of exams
- Accurate system for recording personal details
- Provides good reports
Cons
- Some students struggle with upload document section
- Too easy to accept/reject an offer the wrong way
- Too easy for students to accidentally reject offer and a lot of work to get it back to accept offer
Return on Investment
- Very useful for inputting student assessment results
- Accept offer not working was a huge inconvenience this year
- Did not communicate well with RealControl, some payments taken and not showing on the system/offer not accepted
