What is Etherpad?
Etherpad is an open source collaboration tool that allows users to edit documents collaboratively in real-time, much like a live multi-player editor that runs in a browser. Users can write articles, press releases, to-do lists, etc.,as teams are all working on the same document at the same time.
All instances provide access to all data through an API and Etherpad supports import/export to many major data exchange formats. And if the built-in features aren't enough, there are also plugins that provide additional customization.
There is no need to set up a server and install Etherpad in order to use it. There are publicly available instances available, or the installation guide helps to set up one's own.
Etherpad is open source and free to download and use under an Apache 2.0 license.
