What is Teem / Eventboard (discontinued)?

Originally launched in 2012 as EventBoard, the software pioneered meeting room scheduling and conference room management via dedicated tablet displays before rebranding to Teem in 2016 to cover desk hoteling and workplace analytics. At the peak of its pre-IPO acquisition spree in September 2018, WeWork purchased the company for an estimated $100 million, only to divest it in a distressed sale to workplace software vendor iOFFICE in 2020 amid corporate restructuring and asset liquidations. Teem was subsequently swept into successive private equity consolidations—first absorbed into iOFFICE + SpaceIQ in 2021, and then folded into Eptura in 2022 alongside rival reservation provider Condeco. Sidelined within a bloated portfolio of redundant, overlapping desk- and room-booking systems, the platform was starved of independent development, formally sunset, and deprecated, reducing an early workplace experience pioneer to an obsolete casualty of corporate overreach and private equity rollups.
