What is eXtremeDB?

The eXtremeDB hybrid database management system offers the strengths of the on-disk and all-in-memory approaches in a single database management system. It was designed and optimized to be an in-memory database system (IMDS), allowing for improved performance.

eXtremeDB is a database development tool ideally suited for systems that demand reliability and/or have stringent constraints. The type-safe native C API, target-side debugging capabilities, host-side real-time diagnostic tools, storage media optimized data layouts, integrated small footprint embedded web-server, and supported toolchains support maximum flexibility for developers and minimize time-to-market. The vendor states that it will run predictably on dozens of hardware architectures and operating systems and is a trusted database system for any embedded platform.

eXtremeDB Active Replication Fabric(TM) virtually eliminates data loss between device and server. The APIs allow device-based applications to collect data, then transmit the collected data when connected.

eXtremeDB also offers:
  • Small footprint - 200K as well as Kernel mode
  • A wide range of supported data types
  • Multiple database indexes
  • Built-in security
eXtremeDB for HPC offers:
  • Elastic scalability via Sharding
  • Flexible row (OLTP) and columnar (Time Series, OLAP) data layout
  • Built-in mathematical functions are Pipelined for consistently record-breaking speed.
  • Multiple distributed database options to address different objectives
