What is Filebase?
Filebase is an object storage platform powered by decentralized networks, from the company of the same name in Boston. It unifies multiple networks under a single S3-compatible API to make decentralized storage accessible, and with edge caching technology achieves performance when writing and fetching data to and from decentralized networks, making them a secure, geo-redundant alternative to traditional cloud storage.
Filebase currently utilizes the IPFS and Sia decentralized networks. Each of these networks encrypts all data stored on them with erasure coding technology and has native geo-redundancy. Each network, however, is better suited for certain use cases than others based on their underlying frameworks and technologies.
