  • Webmail is intuitive.
  • Stable platform.
  • Integration with other FortiGate products.

Cons

  • Customize the size of an email inbox.
  • Improve email analysis when sent to an email alias.
  • Be able to present storage directly to the appliance. Make it not a closed operating system.

Return on Investment

  • It has been positive since we do not have mail crashes and we protect the information that is transmitted by these means.
  • The costs are very accessible.
  • Easy deployment and implementation.

Pros

  • FortiMail adds another layer of protection to attack through emails.
  • FortiMail is very flexible and and can be tuned to your needs.
  • FortiMail is very easy to set up and configure.

Cons

  • Occasionally the bulk mail folder needs to be manually refreshed in order to see all the emails that are contained in there.

Return on Investment

  • Our product brand is a household name and we are always a target of phishing scams. FortiMail has made a noticeable difference in reducing the email scam threat.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

For several years now FortiMail protects our partners from email-based attacks, there was a requirement for an effective and high-rated solution, also it has an email archiving feature out of the box. Basically, organizations are using it as an Email Gateway, but you can also use it as a Mailbox Server mode.

Pros

  • FortiMail earned a AAA rating from SE Labs and a 99.78%.
  • Spam Capture Rate from Virus Bulletin.
  • The solution has an effective Antivirus module that protects from malicious URLs and attachments.
  • It also has an integrated cloud sandbox or can be integrated with a physical or virtual appliance (with an additional license).

Cons

  • I do like Management interface, it is very easy to use.
  • It will be great to have the possibility to drill down from statistical graphs to actual incidents or events details.
  • I can not find any difficulties using the Solution.

Return on Investment

  • FortiMail is a very well priced solution worth the money spent.
  • It has intuitive GUI interface and it time saving solution for the technical staff.
  • This one product organization can cover data loss, email compliance, and zero-day threats.

  • The configuration is easy enough.
  • The UI is great after you learn how to use it.
  • Spam detection is fine.
  • Malware and virus detection is very good.

Cons

  • We had many false positive.
  • Needs a lot of tuning.

  • Less virus detected by computer, stopped before.
  • Way less fishing attempts.
  • Doesn't need too much resources.
