Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I used this amazing software during my virtual intervention on Zoom. At the end of the 4-hour meeting, I invited the participants to have a friendly chat on Gather Town. Even though they were tired, they enjoyed the activity on Gather Town. The format, the way to interact , the ease of use...this was a great way to interact in a different way,

Pros

  • Very easy to use
  • Very user-friendly interface
  • Allow a lot of people to interact seamlessly

Cons

  • Some people have trouble finding the controls the first time
  • I use Gather Town during my training sessions with Zoom. A direct link to Gather Town woiuld be nice,
  • Being able to integrate Gather Town IN zoom would be amazing.
  • When people interact in a small group, a larger icone with their face would be nice

Return on Investment

  • I have used it sparingly, as my participants usually have an adverse reaction to new technology
  • Since the end of the pandemic ( may 2023) I have not used virtual conferences as much as between 2002-2023. So, nto a bit impact.
  • When I used it, people were really excited. They expect different experiences when they interact with me and they were not disappointed when I used to Gather Town!

Feel like a real office again with Gather.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We started using Gather after our company went fully remote. We felt disconnected and missed the feeling of a company working together. Gather immediately felt like an office and really helped to bring us together. Staff were much more likely to chat with each other quickly. Instead of sharing links and coordinating over apps, one could simply click to head over to someone's desk and strike up a conversation. It's also easier to break off from bigger meetings and continue the conversation. We even had one of our holiday parties entirely in Gather.

  • Lower overall audio/video quality than other apps.
  • Fewer meeting features.
  • Difficult transition between versions.

  • Does not entirely replace other apps like slack/zoom.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In our organization we used Gather Town everyday for the constant communication, it's the easiest way to find another co-worker in one space and text him or talk to him.The principal business problem that Gather Town solves for us is that we only have one tool for everything, now with the recent updates we can share documents.Our work is totally remote so is a great solution for us

Cons

  • The chat history sometimes erase itself
  • sometimes the application become laggy randomly
  • the output lag when one member start to sharing the screen
  • The integration with google calendar doesn't detect all the meets even when refresh it or re-link the service

Return on Investment

  • Considerable money savings since it has a free tier option
  • When required, a space for more than 100 people is contracted and we can canceled immediately.
  • social events have been carried out virtually thanks to this tool
