In my organization we heavily depend on Stackdriver for error and reporting. It's used by the engineering team, support team and SRE teams. It provides us the application issues especially the exception errors and sends the alerts so that we can take the action and solve the issue. In our organization we are using the Python, GO and Java languages for our applications and all the application errors are available at a single place.
  • All the application error reporting available at a single place.
  • You will get the real-time application error and alerts.
  • It's really easy to use and no need to worry for the setup.
  • It's a bit slow when we want to search for the older logs.
  • Default logs are available only for 30 days, if logs are available for longer duration then it would be great.
  • If it will show the data in graphical representation than it would be awesome because then will get to know the error occurrences and type in graph.
Stackdriver is really a very good tool for errors and reporting. It provides the application issues especially the exception errors and sends the alerts. It's available for multiple languages like Python, GO and Java, etc. The best part is all the application errors are available at a single place and it comes with the GAE application.

It's slow if you want to search very old logs and need to wait couple of hrs sometimes.

Stackdriver has been used gradually in some General Motors branches in Brazil. It focuses on performing metric analysis, that is, it assists in obtaining data and metrics related to the performance, capacity and stability of services and applications. After we started using it, many stability issues and lack of knowledge of the data were all solved.
  • It is fully managed and more scalable.
  • Real-time log analysis.
  • Log Alerts.
  • For searching and filtering the logs the system is slow sometimes.
  • An agent needs to be installed in each VM to monitor specific metrics.
  • The pricing model is confusing.
Easy to set up in all environments. With this tool, the company is now able to measure both well-functioning data and data that needs immediate intervention. This early detection facilitates decisions about actions to correct the disorder and improve indexes. Stackdriver is now essential for the company's security and monitoring team and we plan to expand to other branches.
It is also a great problem detection tool, and this is extremely important for General Motors.
The user can count on the ease of flexible panels and advanced visualization tools that help to identify problems. Among the most common, we can mention:
- containment of hosts;
- cloud provider limitation;
- hardware wear.

And also Stackdriver Integration with other Google Cloud data tools such as BigQuery, Cloud Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage and Cloud Database.
