What is Greptile?

Greptile is an automated Code Review and codebase validation platform designed to analyze, test, and critique pull requests using full-repository context. The system constructs a graph index mapping files, functions, and cross-file dependencies across an entire repository, deploying parallel software agents to inspect pull requests for logical bugs, architectural side effects, and standards violations beyond the immediate line diff.

Context-Aware Review & Code Analysis
Greptile performs multi-file code analysis by querying its codebase graph to evaluate how proposed changes affect downstream modules. The platform inspects pull requests for syntax defects, broken references, concurrency issues, and boundary conditions. Teams can enforce organization-specific development practices by defining custom rules in natural language or by allowing the system to infer conventions directly from historical review comments left by internal software engineers.

Sandboxed Runtime Execution (TREX)
Through its TREX execution engine, Greptile provisions isolated sandbox environments to execute the pull request branch at runtime. This dynamic execution catches defects that static analysis tools miss, including runtime configuration failures, failing startup sequences, and integration errors that only manifest during active execution.

Agent Interoperability & IDE Workflows
Greptile functions as an automated validation layer across human workflows and third-party coding agents. It provides a native Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and plugins for external agents, enabling tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and Devin to ingest review comments with complete file context. Through an iterative review loop (/greploop), development teams can instruct coding agents to address and resolve Greptile review comments directly within the continuous integration pipeline until all flagged issues are cleared.

Platform Support & Enterprise Deployment
Greptile integrates natively with Git-based code hosts, including GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and Cursor Origin, with enterprise support for GitHub Enterprise Server, GitLab Self-Managed, Bitbucket Data Center, Gitea, and Perforce via P4 Code Review. The engine natively supports languages including Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, Elixir, Java, C, C++, C#, Swift, PHP, and Rust. Organizations can deploy Greptile as a hosted cloud service or self-host within private cloud and air-gapped environments, including support for custom or self-managed large language model endpoints.
