We use IBM Apptio to recharge monthly invoices by user to Business Inits. We also do our yearly MTP and quarterly LE budgets. We feed this info back to EIT SLT and BUs.
Easy to do the recharge we require, which was completely manual before IBM Apptio. Budget creation was in Excel with many issues and bugs.

We currently use Targetprocess and Apptio One. Our current scope is to provide the business with transparency on cost, forecast and budget along with workforce management and product portfolio to have an holistic view on what is happening in IT and what we are spending on.
The Apptio toolset is fantastic in some areas at data relationships and modelling, but could do with improving its interface in Target process around mapping data from the different products
We are using cost transparency and have started to implement IT Planning. We are looking to provide a greater level of transparency for the business on our IT costs and to gain greater control over our budgeting and forecasting.
I've not seen another tool on the market that can bring costing data and people data together in a seamless way.
We are using Apptio more as dashboard for various cost analyses, for cost allocation reporting and for planning the future costs.
1. Graphs - One of the challenges is that we don't have waterfall charts in ApptioOne cost.
2. Comparison - We would like to compare planning data with actual cost by choosing one or more forecast plans. At this moment we can upload only one forecast plan from the Planning platform to the Cost platform.
3. KPI - It would be nice to have more KPIs or possibility to choose what we would like to see in it, while we are making input in our plans.
4. Target plan KPI. We would like to have possibility to upload Targets in to the planning. There is an option to enter the Targets, but not to upload it. We would like to use it in KPI cell while we are making input in our plans.

We are using Costing and planning modules. Main issues are with reporting, visualizations and for planning part Labor planning is very inconvenient due to separate tabs for existing and planned, users have to jump between these tabs, don't have combined view of actual and planned FTEs in one sheet.
