Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use IBM Cloud Content Delivery Network for delivering our web app static content to our customers throughout the world. The CDN delivers those assets faster as they are cached at geographical nodes throughout the world and reduces load on our primary web servers.

Pros

  • Delivers static content (HTML, CSS, JS)
  • Reduces load on our servers

Cons

  • The ability to purge content by directory or based on wildcards would be a huge time saver

The IBM Cloud Content Delivery Network is well suited for web applications that have a distributed worldwide audience. Modern web sites load a lot of assets, such as javascript and css, that can be sped up significantly with it.
