IBM SSD: fast and efficient
I have been using IBM SSDs on a small numbers of servers for a number of years now, these are used primarily in our Tableau instances and selected for their high performance as OS Drives. Those servers require fast I/O when it comes to the end user interface (via online portal) and IBM SDDs respond perfectly to that need.
- I/O Speed
- Ease of configuration
- Ease of replacement in case of failure
- Capacity, can always use more space.
- Speed because its never enough.
- Longevity, although already it's quite good, longer MTFB is always better.
- High I/O for fast server restarts
- Ease of setting up via IBM Software/backend
- Adequate MTBF
- Good Return on Investment as none have been replaced so far
- High response time from online portal for web users
