We've used illume to celebrate fellow group members and leaders with digital group cards that all of our members contribute to, such as for fundraising and care package events. Each note can be personalized with photos, videos, and GIFs, plus a color theme for the overall card. It's a great team-building and community-building tool, and one that doesn't need everyone to get together in person in order to create and send a card.

Illume seems best to use for holidays, special occasions, and events, like birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, corporate or leadership development retreats, etc. It's less appropriate for cases where you don't have at least a few people to contribute to a card—it's still possible to create and send a card with only one or two contributors, but the tool's designed for groups and teams and allows unlimited contribution.
