What is iScape?
iScape is an iPad and iPhone landscape design app with a free plan for hobbyist or DIY landscape design, and a pro plan for professional landscapers. The app features 2D & 3D design tools and enables users to plan or explore landscape ideas in a visual way, as well as collaborate and share ideas.
iScape starts with an image from a device’s onboard camera, or a designer can use an image from the iScape image library. With a variety of design tools, enables users to edit, add, or remove landscape features in a visual design environment. Users can add objects to images, including trees, shrubs, sheds, pools, hot tubs, fencing, firepits, other plants, hardscapes, patio furniture, umbrellas, and other landscaping items. iScape provides the option to design with Augmented Reality technology or a 2D image, to provide the option for 3D AR design to help viewers better envision how a future outdoor space could look through a more interactive experience. Editing features include the ability to alter textures, cut-out & clone objects and landscape features, spin or rotate objects, duplicate objects, and mark various objects as favorites.
When a design is complete or in-process, results can be shared, and users on an iScape Pro Subscription can send a proposal including an itemized invoice to the client. Items added to an image can be priced, and iScape will remember the price of an item for future designs.
The vendor’s value proposition is that iScape’s virtual design and visualization tools will reduce or eliminate project costs related to landscape changes, rebidding and replanting. The tool can be used for free by anyone, and the app’s pro users are professional landscapers, using the tool in place of other landscape design tools or sketching landscapes out by hand.
