iSpionage is good for a quick overview of competitors' SEO and paid search strategies. It is not as good as competitors for more in-depth research, competitive analysis, or strategic planning.

In my company, iSpionage is used primarily by our SEO specialists, who optimize the company's website, and SEM managers who run search engine ads. I personally use alerts and competitor analysis options. This additional feature notifies me when someone posted a resume with the keywords I need, so I am one of the first to contact that candidate.
Pros
Keyword alerts notifications.
Competitors analysis.
Website monitoring.
Cons
limited list of countries.

A good tool to analyze your own website, the websites of your competitors, and potential partners. It is more than just a tool for SEO and SEM experts. Any marketer can use it. For example, as an HR manager, iSpionage helps me to find good websites to post info about our vacancies. No matter how nice the website is - traffic is a king.
Our goal with iSpionage is to try to get insights into our competitors' SEO success, looking for edges and angles that can give our clients the kinds of sustainable, long-term organic success that they can be proud of. This is one tool in our arsenal, but one that we've turned to more than once to give us a different view of the bigger picture.
Pros
Identifying competitor keywords
Identifying additional online competitors that may be in parallel industries
Seeking additional keywords that we can increase rankings for
Cons
Keyword database is limited compared to other tools
Limited (though streamlined) feature set
Less agency-friendly than other tools.

If you're managing a single business' organic work, then this tool can be very useful, but it shouldn't be the only tool you utilize to get insights into your competitors online. It is nice that they include Bing/Yahoo-specific insights, for the industries/companies that see strong results from that alternative search engine.
We use iSpionage typically for Paid Search—primarily for pitch decks, to get a sense of the space. It's good for getting the lay of the land in terms of competitor spend, which is useful if you walk into a pitch. Clients like to get the idea that you know their business pretty well, and understand the space.
Pros
Quick view PPC budget—even in a couple seconds you can see about how much competitors are spending
Snapshots of specific ads—amazing for comparisons and even ideas to vulture for your own ads
The Landing Pages tab is a good place to see which specific pages competitors are driving to
Cons
The Compare Competitor button sounds pretty sweet, but I've never been able to get it to work—it just says it's temporarily unavailable (I've tried it like 30 times over months). Maybe just a browser bug? Dunno
I wish there were more exportable data —the overall little chart would be nice, but I guess screenshotting works okay—more chart types would be nice too, or a filter option of data points to throw into that chart.
I wish I could export the "Top Ads" widget—you have to just copy paste it I guess...seems like a missed opportunity for quick use

iSpionage is ideal for when you want to get a feel for the competitor landscape for a potential client. You can just pop in, throw in the URL, and see which competitors populate, then look at the average spend. I wish I could look back at like yearly average spend, easier (default on last 1 month). But it's great to get quick glimpses and build some quick talking points around that.
I don't think it's all that good for organic keyword analysis. I find the organic interface a bit clunky, with lots of information that I don't feel is all that relevant. Stick with paid search insights.
