We are using OS Deployer to deploy devices for several of our customers for them to have a device that is as prepped as possible before handing of the the end users.

It works as intended howerver there is always room for improvment.

We have a Lenevo laptop shop. This has corrected our issues using MS MDT and WDS. Our team really loves the product as well, since we are able to image HP thin clients for our Citrix environment.

Easy to setup and train a colleague for use. PXE boot is great as well within the application.

ManageEngine OS Deployer is currently in a testing fase, where we look into the possibility to deploy images for multiple customers in a easy controlled manner with a lower price than MEMCM (SCCM) or Intune using Autopilot of which customers needs MS Licensenses. What's currently lacking from ManageEngine OS Deployer is the ability to preform pre tasks before the actual imaging of a endpoint such as BIOS upgrade and settings witch reboot option and a more sofisticated solution (dashboard) of knowing if all Remote Offices are synced and up to date regarding files like images, applications and drivers.

It is going there. The development is on its way just needs a little push to be able to compete with softwares like MDT, MEMCM (SCCM and Intune).

The way of working with ManageEngine OS Deployer is someway similar with Autopilot. You lack functions you are used to if you have been working with MDT or SCCM in the past. But as far as I know the development of ManageEngine OS Deployer is fully active and ME are more willing to listen to technicians on what we would like the product to handle.

We were building and deploying Windows 10 laptops one by one, loading them by hand. The process was taking approximately three to four hours per computer. In addition, normal human errors were occurring with the IT technicians making slight configuration differences from one to another. After implementing ManageEngine OS Deployer, our deployment process now takes around 15 minutes, and the computers are identical every time. We've saved significant money, increased production, and decreased the amount of errors in our rollouts.

Likelihood to Recommend

ManageEngine OS Deployer has served us well in the small to medium sized business environment. But I can imagine it would work amazingly in any size company. I haven't seen it fail yet, and we've put it through its paces and are using most of the features it has available. All in all, we are very pleased with the product and would definitely do it over again.
