Maptionnaire

Maptionnaire Community Engagement Platform is a map-based service for cities, consultancies, and research organizations enabling more effective public engagement. Maptionnaire provides insights for decision making by bridging the gap between the city and its residents.

At its core are the map-based tools for designing questionnaires, collecting information, and analyzing data. Maptionnaire helps collaborate, report, and communicate about engagement projects and plans with citizens and stakeholders, as well as with colleagues.

Maptionnaire is a modular service. Each module serves a different need in the participation process. There are six modules:

• Real-time Feedback Map
• Automated PDF Creator
• 3D Collaboration.

The add-ons include Reporting Dashboard and Teams. Users can choose the modules needed to support community engagement processes, and then pay for the modules used. Pricing consists of pre-defined product levels (+ add-ons) and is subscription-based.

Maptionnaire software is browser-based and works with any device. The service always includes technical support and training.

Maptionnaire is developed by Mapita Oy. Their story began when a group of urban planning researchers and professionals based in Helsinki discovered an emerging problem: there was an increasing need for city planners to engage the public and to get real input from local residents. Mapita Oy was founded in 2011 to provide a platform for anyone to create their own map-based surveys and improve community engagement. Today, Maptionnaire is a global service with customers in over 30 countries. To date, the vendor states citizens have generated over 10 million responses with Maptionnaire, and there have been more than 6000 community engagement projects done by using the service.
