Saves SO MUCH TIME and energy. Promotes work/life balance.
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Being a practicing psychologist and a practice owner offers demands on emotions and time. Finding ways to make my life and the life of the clinicians around me easier is important to me. Mentalyc is a wonderful solution! I save HOURS per week with the notes that are created by transcribing session into Mentalyc, recording and producing notes from sessions, and producing treatment plans. You can choose a wide variety of note types including DAP, SIRP, BIRP and SOAP. There are intake notes that include much more information than the regular progress notes. I am a supervisor and you can create notes for supervision. There are couples, family, children, and group notes available as well. You can adjust for therapeutic intervention (EMDR, somatic, humanistic, person centered, etc.). This has changed my life and help make note taking less onerous. For therapists, I offer this as a reward for having a certain amount of sessions in a two week period, after which they earn a year's membership. The seats can be transferrable if a therapist leaves.
Pros
- Progress Notes and available formats
- Adjusting Notes to Other Types (Intake vs. progress)
- SAVES TIME
Cons
- Does not have notes for group supervision
- Symptoms within progress notes are not consistently easy to edit
- The app will make a sound and want to shut off if there is more than 3 minutes of silence. This is disruptive.
Likelihood to Recommend
Newer clinicians are not taught how to write notes in school. This helps them discover ways to write notes and to model what they write in a concise and professional manner.
