Netgate TNSR
3 years of experience
I've had a tangible experience with Netgate TNSR version 21.07 and the recently launched version 22.02 TNSR for traffic routing and cloud networking. We engaged Netgate TNSR routers rather than the traditional proprietary silicon based routers because it's quick to setup the connection and there is less packet processing latencies. It is also crucial to my work area which is bot creation since there are no software bloats when deploying cloud-based bots.
  • Has very fast connection setups
  • I've never experienced packet processing latencies while using the software.
  • It's easy to monitor the routers via SNMP
Cons
  • Took me a while before I completely got a hold of the complex command line interface.
Netgate TNSR would be most suitable if you are in need of fast application traffic and quick packet processing. What I like most about Netgate TNSR is that the network interfaces no longer get cut in half or encrypted traffic hauled so you are able to work on your projects swiftly on stable connections. You will however have to make time to familiarize with the command line interface for quick commands.
  • super fast routing
  • The Simple Network Management Protocol to monitor routers with ease.
  • We deploy the third party hardware on AWS with great flexibility
  • Fast packet processing
  • Superb router performance without needing ASICs.
