Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a system integrator and provide solutions to our customers to address their business requirements related to their secure access to their private data centers. There are multiple challenges related to VPN based access for internet users, for internet-facing and non-internet-facing applications. NPA provides zero-trust-based application-level access to data centers, cloud workloads, and SaaS based applications. We are able to design and implement these solutions specific to customer use cases.

Pros

  • Great replacement of VPN based access, avoiding VPN overheads, latency, and poor user experience.
  • Zero trust network access, which provide per application access without using network tunnel.
  • Strong cloud native architecture that can scale globally with low latency.
  • Unified secure access to private, SaaS, and Web Apps.
  • Context-aware security with real-time visibility and data protection.

Cons

  • The solution is complex, which require specific expertise to implement and manage these solutions.
  • In a hybrid and distributed environment even the initial set-up is complex.
  • In the case of small and midsize deployments, NPA becomes costly in comparison with some of the trusted names in the market.
  • Can we have better modular pricing and licensing?

Likelihood to Recommend

For more suitable scenarios, it is more flexible to deploy NPA with granular access to third-party vendors and contractors. works well in hybrid and multi-cloud private application access. good use cases with DLP, logging, and zero trust. we required improvement if the customer needs full network layer access, as some of the legacy applications may need full network access. also, can we achieve better performance for latency-sensitive or real-time traffic like voice, video?

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use this product as a proxy on our computers, in addition to using the VPN option for work outside the office.

Pros

  • The ability to block uploads of information to the cloud
  • The power to select what to do and what not to do within a website

Cons

  • When a blocking alert pops up, the user could click to request it be enabled, making it easier to create the policy.

Likelihood to Recommend

It actually works very well as a proxy, allowing you to create the exceptions you need. It even recognizes them in many applications, and you can configure them as instances, to be more precise.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Netskope Private Access to control user access on Layer 7 to external webpage and have insight of what they upload to what page and for DLP policies primarily.

We also use Netskope Private Access as a security tool to blacklist malicious webpages and as a VPN with NPA to allow remote access to selected users

Pros

  • Proxy
  • Remote Access
  • DLP

Cons

  • Integration with another security tools
  • Android Client

Likelihood to Recommend

I think it´s a very good tool, it´s usage it´s very intuitive and the UI is very clean and responsive.

When used as a remote access tool, we have it integrated with azure and the user login is done through the Microsoft account, so we have insight of the location logins centralized in Defender 365 and it´s very easy to use for the end user

  • It overcomes the drawbacks of VPN.
  • It only allows the genuine user to access the application.

Cons

  • Publisher upgrade should be pre intimidated.
  • NPA user interface can be more simplified.
  • Backend changes should be notified.

Likelihood to Recommend

Netskope Private Access provides only authenticated users to access the application and it only allows those users whose access has been provided. It provides fast and secure access to the application, whereas a VPN allows users to connect to the whole network once the VPN is connected. Sometimes due to some back-end changes at the stitcher or management plane user is not able to connect the application which leads to customer business.
