What is Office Server Document Converter?

Office Server Document Converter (OSDC) is a server-side conversion library designed by Antenna House for Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and RTF documents. It is used to convert documents to PDF, SVG, TIFF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, INX, XPS files with high-precision conversions, even in environments where Microsoft Office and Adobe software are not installed. OSDC supports .NET, COM, Java, and C/C++ as standard application interfaces. Additionally, the system can create thumbnails, tagged PDF, and PDF/A for archiving.

OSDC is compatible with Linux and AWS Graviton2 and works on a server. The conversion method can be done automatically with APIs or Command-line, making it easy to process large volumes of data quickly.

Antenna House has recently released OSDC V9.0, which includes "OSDC Docx2HTML Output Version", a specialized server-side conversion of docx files to HTML. With the addition of HTML to PDF and image conversion, OSDC can further expand one-source multi-use of Office documents. The vendor states that doing these conversions on the back-end, without the need to operate Adobe or Microsoft can save time and money, especially when converting large amounts of files.
