It is currently used across the entire organization, separated into independent regional instances. We use it to maintain large instances of transaction data, as well as customer specific information related to healthcare needs. This is the main reporting source for multiple areas of business and customer service uses throughout the company.
  • Scaling for additional space and processing needs.
  • Disaster recovery.
  • Training and ramping up to learn all the Oracle specific intricacies.
  • Security concerns with administering some of the tools to end users.
For daily transactional information and customer data needs it has been an extremely fast and reliable system. Several thousand users are able to connect many third party tools and run a large number of extracts while still experiencing great performance. For smaller systems in use with limited user accounts this system is less appropriate due to maintenance resources required.

  • Ability to setup reliable disaster recovery.
  • Upgrades and performance monitoring tools are readily available.
Oracle replace a popular integrated nationally used platform shared throughout multiple states. The system was responsive and stable, capable of growing with the business needs. Replacing it with Oracle Data Integration Platform has been a large improvement, adding the capability for better live monitoring, faster response times, better disaster recovery options, easier third party integration.

We use Oracle Data Integration as an ETL tool to load data from Oracle EBS to our data warehouse. We use it across the organization. We used to have Informatica in the past. When we upgraded our OBIEE and BIAPPS, we had to implement ODI to comply with the latest versions of BIAPPS.
  • ODI uses ELT architecture, which enhances the load performance and is very scalable.
  • ODI is platform independent. It supports all platforms, hardware and operating systems.
  • It comes with pre-built integration, allowing immediate data replication, transformation, and data governance while ensuring data quality.
  • OnPrem connectivity Agent has issues sometimes. It needs improvement.
  • We encountered issues while moving a repository from one environment to another.
  • I would be nice to have more cloud adapters to connect to different saas applications.
I highly recommend the Oracle Data Integration Platform if you are using OBIEE as a reporting tool. ODI offers a large number of solutions. The on-premise product was expensive to implement and maintain. The cloud version is most suitable for small scale to large scale implementations.

  • We are able to connect to SaaS applications and bring that data to our data warehouse.
  • We don't have to worry about maintaining the infrastructure and upgrades.
  • The product is highly scalable. Our company acquires and divests businesses, in our case a cloud solution is very helpful to scale the system depending on the need.
We are longtime ODI on-premise users. So, it was easy for us to migrate to the ODI cloud rather than implementing another solution.
