What is PaleBlue Simulation Platform?

The PaleBlue Simulation Platform is a software framework designed to build simulators and experiences in the fields of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). According to the vendor, this platform is suitable for companies of various sizes across industries such as oil and gas, manufacturing, construction, aerospace, and maritime. Professionals in these sectors can utilize the PaleBlue Simulation Platform to enhance their training, design, and simulation processes.

CAD Direct: According to the vendor, the CAD Direct feature allows users to load 3D models from CAD sources and optimize them for real-time simulator use. This eliminates the need for manual simplification and supports various BIM and CAD formats. The triangulation of CAD models is automatically revised if the original file is modified.

VR FreeSense: The VR FreeSense feature is said to support a wide range of VR devices, controllers, and platforms for accurate facial expression, eye movement, and full body tracking in VR. The vendor claims compatibility with popular VR headsets like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, enabling precise virtual interactions.

Smart Avatar: According to the vendor, the Smart Avatar feature uses minimal sensors to create a full avatar body in VR. This eliminates the need for a full motion capture setup and accurately predicts and moves the avatar's full body, including legs, using inverse kinematics calculations.

VR Connect: The VR Connect feature allows unlimited multiplayer simulator sessions with multiple avatars, as stated by the vendor. Participants can be assigned different roles and the feature supports remote connection through the internet. Full motion information, including head and body position, finger positions, facial expressions, and gaze direction tracking, can be transmitted over the network.

Physics Plus: According to the vendor, the Physics Plus feature provides accurate physical modeling and simulation to replicate real-life behavior. It utilizes industrial and kinematics physics modeling to reproduce real-world interactions such as forces, friction, and weights. The feature can be customized to simulate both simple and complex physical interactions.

VR Interact: The VR Interact feature simulates the physics of hands and fingers, allowing complex physical interaction actions with virtual objects. According to the vendor, it supports various interaction options, accurate hand and finger position tracking, and can be used with human and non-human characters to enhance the realism of the simulation.

VR FlexBody: According to the vendor, the VR FlexBody feature allows users to see their complete 3D body (avatar) in a VR simulation, including arms and legs. It supports complete body movement tracking and can be customized with specific project needs, such as avatar gender, work suit, and training role.

VR FreeRoam: The VR FreeRoam feature enables the usage of wireless VR standalone devices for unrestricted movement within the simulation area, according to the vendor. Participants can walk freely without being restricted by cables and interact with other players in the simulation. Mobile VR headsets like Oculus Quest can be used for a more convenient and immersive VR experience.
