What is Planview Hub?
Planview Hub is an enterprise-grade, no-code integration product that connects and synchronizes the tools used across software delivery teams, from requirements and planning through development, testing, and operations. It automates the flow of artifacts, including stories, defects, requirements, and test cases, between best-of-breed tools, addressing manual data entry, broken traceability, and fragmented visibility. Hub is available both on-premises and as a fully managed cloud service.
Model-Based Integration
- Rather than mapping each pair of tools individually, projects are mapped to a shared, standardized model once, which then acts as a universal translator across the toolchain
- Adding a new project to an existing integration takes minutes rather than hours, since it joins the existing model grouping automatically
- Changes to the model, such as a new field or workflow update, propagate automatically across every integration using that model
- Reusable collections allow multiple projects to be grouped and mapped to the model together
- Smart fields automatically identify and map standard fields across supported repositories, reducing manual configuration work
- Out-of-the-box models are available for artifact types including Defect, Story, Feature, Epic, Test Case, Requirement, Task, Build, and Ticket
Connectors and Toolchain Coverage
- More than 60 pre-built connectors span requirements management, agile planning, test management, ITSM, version control, and CI/CD tools
- Connectors are tested daily against new tool versions, with automated testing run nightly across dozens of repositories and hundreds of tool versions
- The Planview Universal Connector allows customers to build a connector to any commercial, in-house, or industry-specific repository not covered by the pre-built connector library, using the same model-based architecture and version testing infrastructure as every other connector
Integration Capabilities
- Bi-directional synchronization keeps artifacts in sync across tools, handling comments, attachments, embedded images, and artifact relationships such as parent-child and dependency links
- The Gateway integration style creates or modifies artifacts in lifecycle tools based on event triggers
- Conditional routing sends artifacts to specific projects or repositories based on field values
- Custom transformations support field-level business rules to reconcile differences in how tools represent the same data, without requiring code
- Artifact Relationship Management preserves relationships between artifacts as they move between tools, even when relationship types differ across tool ecosystems
- Person reconciliation automatically matches user identities across tools when naming conventions differ
Enterprise Data Stream
- Streams artifact activity data from all connected tools to a centralized, pre-normalized database in near real time
- Supports selective replication, so only needed data is replicated, reducing storage costs
- Feeds business intelligence tools for cross-tool dashboards, flow metrics, and traceability reporting
Deployment and Security
- Available as Hub Cloud, a fully managed service, or on-premises for organizations with specific data residency or regulatory requirements
- Includes LDAP/Active Directory integration, two-factor authentication, and password policy enforcement
- Fine-grained access controls support secure multi-party collaboration, allowing organizations to share specific work artifacts with external partners while keeping unshared artifacts completely hidden
Analytics and Visibility
- Activity and Metrics dashboards provide operational visibility into integration health, including activity logs, error tracking, and performance monitoring
- An ROI Dashboard tracks time savings, transaction volumes, and capacity recovered from integration use over time
